I would have it start this way
Open up the fridge and have a tall boy
Yeah
Then I'd meet up with my friends
Head out to the game again
We don't even really care who wins
Now excitement seems to grow
When we're hangin' with the bro's
As the semester has progressed everything that surrounds me has become philosophical. Even punk songs that I had never even tried to understand the meaning now start to make sense. This song by The Offspring shows how vital philosophy is in our daily lives and how the experiences you create with people you care is what makes a day truly unique. That is why my perfect day would come out something like this.
First, I would wake up and call a couple of friends and get together before lunch. The ideal scenario would be in a house with a pool where we could get together and chill with the sun blazing in our faces having a cold drink to refresh ourselves. The conversation would then fluctuate between lightness and weight to ensure us not succumbing to societies pressure and understanding what is it that we enjoy. The chatter would vary from what we plan to do with our future all the way to recreating memories from “that” time one of us fucked up. After a couple of laughs in the pool, it would be time to go for lunch. The perfect combo would come in the shape of sushi, and the location undoubtedly has to be Sushito. A restaurant that has been at the epicenter of many of my life benchmarks no day could be perfect without my friends and I eating there. Not only is the food excellent, but the wood surroundings and the friendly atmosphere makes it a place that we seem to fit in perfectly. Once lunch is finished, our next destination would be any house that has a terrace. There we could hang out listening to music that reminds us of all those fond memories of our life, while we reflect on different decisions we have made in our life and how it has shaped us. Music is vital in making a day perfect as a song always explains what you cannot say in your words. After around an hour or so listening to music and having a crack it is time to go and do some sport. There is no better way to end a perfect day than playing a 7v7 game of soccer between friends. Not only does it exercise our body but it is a way to disconnect from the rest of the world. To let all our worries behind and only focus on that little ball that spins towards goal. Once the game is finished, there is no better way to say goodbye than by drinking a cold Inka Cola. Once the bubbly yellow soda makes its way through your throat, it is time to call it a day and head home.
Sadly this type of day is almost impossible during weekdays, as school work is usually the norm. However, when I can achieve at least half of my plans, my levels of happiness are enormous. Not only because I enjoy what I am doing but because of the experiences I am creating my “brothers.”
