It was in that very moment, when we stood arms around each other in a huddle with our eyes closed that I understood the true value of friendship and being part of a team. As I spoke, I motivated the team to get out and battle to the death, leaving no man behind. “ Being my last ADCA next to all of you, I want to have the honor of winning it for the first time this year. I have played in many great times but none of them compares to this one. This is my team.” But it was when I closed my mouth and heard Alessandro speak that I knew this was my place on earth. I still recall his words “don't do this for Sergio, Dawson, Feu or me just because it is our last ADCA. Do this for yourselves, play to be remembered in this school for ever; as the greatest team that there ever was”
It was when I entered the arena with my loyal companions beside me, that I felt in Eden. I no longer had millions of questions spinning around my mind with more doubts than answers. Now, my only goal was glory. My problems didn't matter here. The only thing of significance was caring for my troops. If one got hit it was as if I was hit and I won't let it pass. On the field my problems were taken over by passion and desire to win. As the wind breezed around me, and the smell of freshly cut grass covered the field, I gave a final stare to my troops. They were ready too.
The whistle blew and now this was my world. The only moment where I could forget about everything. Be it only for 90 minutes, I was in peace. No one could bother me with irrelevant issues. Here we all spoke one common language: soccer. After the battle is done ,we are back to reality, but for those 90 minutes, it is magic. We are in another universe.
