My very first day as a Innovation Academy student at FDR finally came. It feels as if it were only yesterday when I was sitting with Mr. Topf having my interview to get accepted to this new program. Fast forward sixth months and now here I am sitting for the first time with my fellow classmates ready to embark on this new challenge in life. It will be hard and demanding but the most important aspect in our journey to success will be trust. There is no way a classroom can work without trust and that was the main idea of our day. I had never imagined trust having such an important impact on how I worked but most importantly on how I collaborated with others. After watching a ted talk by Simon Sinek that explained how trust shapes our world I finally understood that for anything in life to work correctly starting from a small business all the way to a major country trust has to be set in our believes. After understanding how trust affects our world then we could finally understand what it meant to be part of the Innovation Academy and how we would work to achieve our group project that we as a grade level decided upon. The group project, which we decided upon, is to make the class run as a small business and thus, advertise a local company so we can help it rise to a bigger scale and finally blossom. Trust again plays a major role on allowing the project to work as without it no one would allow others to manipulate their work freely and have the freedom to go outside of the classroom and working. As you can see our first major lesson and the whole focus of our first day as IA students was to show how trust shapes our world and how important it will be in our daily life.
